After my third surgery, I knew I was at a crossroads. I could choose to keep living this cycle on repeat or I could try to pave my own way out. I finally realized that I wasn’t ready to just accept the first option, but I also wasn’t likely to find the answers I needed in booking more of the same appointments and medical treatments. There had to be something else. Anything else.

Ultimately, I took matters into my own hands.

This new determination led me to learn everything I possibly could about the body and, as luck would have it, to accidentally stumble onto the Psoas muscle.

Prior to this discovery, I felt like I had tried it all.

I’d been to countless doctors who provided little insight. I'd done physical therapy that worked short term, but the pain would always come back. I love my chiropractor, but it wouldn’t be long after getting adjusted that the pain would return like clockwork.

Not once did anyone mention the Psoas muscle.

To find that this was the muscle that actually holds us upright, that literally walks us through life, and most incredibly, acts as a warehouse for our pain and trauma -- this was both game-changing and bewildering to me.

The main point I learned is that there are some things you simply can't stretch or strengthen your way out of.
