Sunday Morning Music: Destroyer

Destroyer is the brainchild of Canadian singer-songwriter Daniel Bejar. Destroyer was formed in 1995 and has more than ten records but this is the first that I have listened to. I often listen to my music on shuffle and every time a song from this record came up I wanted to hear more.

The sound of the music belies the name of the band which reminds me of a time I was working on a construction crew with a bunch of hardcore guys. I had a cassette (it was that long ago) of a band called the Ass Ponies (great band) and one of the other carpenters put it on thinking it was going to be heavy noise based on the name but instead he got odd indie pop music and almost threw the cassette deck out of the window.
