Diamond Rugs is a supergroup of bands I don’t know that much about. The leader of the group is John McCauley of Deer Tick who I know and like. Steve Berlin of Los Lobos, whose first record deserves to be in the pantheon of greatest records ever made, is also on the record, with a bunch of other guys from other bands that I have never listened to.
It takes me a while to hear lyrics so I can’t discern if the songs are about misogyny or insecurity or both, but the women don’t seem to come off too well on first blush. The video is from a performance on Letterman earlier this year.
