River Deep, Mountain High from Ike and Tina Turner via Phil Spector is one of the greatest songs ever recorded, It’s poor reception in the US essentially ened Spector’s career for a couple of years and he never truly returned to form.
I am reading Bob Stanley’s epic music history, Yeah Yeah Yeah:The Story of Modern Pop and it is a great book. A massive undertaking, I am halfway through and completely engrossed .
