Rocket From The Crypt are a band from San Diego. Twenty years ago I saw a number of shows from this tour and they were simply awesome as evidenced in the video.
I’m planning on going to see frontman Jonh Reis (Speedo) play some version of classic surf music next month at the Bowery.
One last Rocket fact: When they first began they made a deal with their fans that if they got a tattoo of their logo they would get into shows for free. It seems that the phenomenon outgrew its viability and they couldn’t honor the deal on last years reunion tour but it remains a very cool gimmick.
