We are getting ready to hit the road for a month and I have been loading up my phone with some seminal records to share with my kids.

Bridge Over Troubled Water came out in 1970 when I was 7 years old and Cecilia rocked my world. In third grade I stood up in front of a packed auditorium at P.S. 236 to belt out my heartfelt rendition. When I got to the lyric, “Making love in the afternoon with Cecilia up in my bedroom”, Mrs. Wiesenberg who eventually became my fifth grade teacher, clamped her hand over my mouth and ushered my off the stage.

Thus ended what could (not) have been a promising music career.
